LOST Scoop!

Lost's Sayid (Naveen Andrews) may be in for a couple difficult talks — not one, but two of his former lovers are returning to the show. Both Shannon (Maggie Grace), his dead island girlfriend, and Nadia (Andrea Gabriel), his dead off-island wife, will return in the final season.

Production on several films initially kept Grace from reprising her role as Shannon, Boone's stepsister who was killed by Ana Lucia in Season 2. "We're really excited about having her back on the show," executive producer Carlton Cuse told Entertainment Weekly, "and we have a good story for her."

Nadia also was murdered — her life taken by one of Charles Widmore's assassins, who ran her over in a crosswalk as Sayid helplessly looked on.

Reps for the ABC series would not comment to TVGuide.com on when Grace and Gabriel will return, how long they'll appear on the show or whether either will suck face with Sayid.

Libby (Cynthia Watros), Michael (Harold Perrineau), Charlotte (Rebecca Mader) and Daniel Faraday (Jeremy Davies) are among the other departed characters we'll see again in the final season of Lost.

SPOILERS!

Question: Will House try to break up Wilson and his new/old girlfriend on House? —Nikki
Ausiello: And how. As series creator David Shore explains, “This isn’t just House being protective of Wilson, this is him being protective of Wilson against somebody who arguably knows Wilson as well as House does. And I think that’s what makes the scenes [between Hugh Laurie and Cynthia Watros] so interesting. You have these two people who apparently care about Wilson, although they’ve both made some dramatic mistakes in that regard, kind of fighting over him.”

Question: Do you have any more details about Cynthia Watros’ character on House aside from her being Wilson’s first ex-wife? —Gavin
Ausiello: Her name is Dr. Sam Carr, her area of expertise is radiology, and she’s “smart, capable, and a little offbeat,” says David Shore. “Anyone who is going to be involved with Wilson is going to be a little bit different. We wanted her to be worthy of Wilson’s strengths and worthy of Wilson’s weaknesses.”

Question: What will Booth’s new love interest mean for Booth and Brennan on Bones? —Ellouise
Ausiello: I don’t think there will be any long-term fallout, especially since Rena Sofer is only on board for one episode at this point. But in the short-term, the date will “cause a little turmoil” in their emotional lives, according to exec producer Stephen Nathan, who adds, “It’s nice to confuse Booth and Brennan every now and then. You don’t want the show to become predictable or complacent.” Nathan also points out that “Booth has really neglected his personal life. We wanted to see what it would be like for him to [briefly] explore a potential life with another person… and let him see what it’s like to just be a guy.”

Question: I do not like this whole Booth with a new love interest nonsense! Any hope for Booth/Brennan fans by the end of season 5? —Shorty
Ausiello: Exec producer Stephen Nathan hinted that Booth’s big date with Sofer’s Catherine — which is slated to air in the April 22 episode — will help move B&B “forward towards a bit of a change in their lives.” What does that mean exactly? Grrr. Let me come at this from a different angle: How does the date go? “I guess how the date goes depends on what you think of Booth and Bones and the show Bones. Some people are going to like it, some people are not going to like it.” Let me come at this from a different angle: Nah, I give up.

Question: Need some Bones scoop, please! —Amy
Ausiello: Cam’s getting a new love interest! “We have an episode coming up where Cam meets someone,” reveals Nathan, “and it complicates her relationship with her adopted daughter, Michelle.” Nathan adds that we’ll meet Cam’s suitor in “a very bizarre way.”

Question: What year are the Glee kids in high school? Will they ever graduate? —Mike
Ausiello: Sounds like series creator Ryan Murphy is keeping his options open. “The thing about the show that’s important is we try to be real, but it is also a fantasy high school,” he says. “I don’t know. We’re still trying to get through [season] one. I think it’s important to have new voices and new kids come in [each year]. That’s definitely something that we’re doing.”

Question: I am red hot mad with ABC over the offing of Ugly Betty! They are ending one of the best shows on television! What are the chances that it can be moved to another network? —Melissa
Ausiello: The chances are about zero to none. As far as I know, there’s no effort underway to find Betty a new home. On the bright side, I have some scoop for you: Aaron Tveit (a.k.a. Nate’s cuz and Serena’s ex from Gossip Girl) has been cast as a playwright who Betty goes on a date with in a late March episode. According to my Ugly insider, “The relationship starts great and ends horribly.” Not unlike every single episode of Saturday Night Live.

Question: How about another hint about who’s getting married in the Ugly Betty series finale? —Carol
Ausiello: It’s a heterosexual couple whose names rhyme with Silda and Cobby. In related news, the lovely, talented, and loose-lipped Ana Ortiz confirmed over the weekend that Hilda will marry Bobby in the Ugly Betty series finale.

Question: I’m thrilled that Big Love was renewed for a fifth season, but do you know how many episodes there will be? Hopefully it’s more than the nine we’re getting this season. —George
Ausiello: I can confirm that season 5 will be longer than season 4, but just barely. HBO ordered 10 episodes this time around.

Question: In light of Smallville not being renewed for the next season yet, I am feeling down! I need some juicy scoop to feel better! —Anibal
Ausiello: Two characters will soon discover each others’ secret identities.

Question: Thanks for the Cable Renewal Scorecard, but you forgot to include Legend of the Seeker. Will it be renewed? —David
Ausiello: I think you forgot that Legend is a syndicated show. That list only covered cable shows, hence the words “CABLE EDITION” in the headline. Capiche? But to answer your question, I’d say the cult fave is a safe bet for renewal. In related news, I’ve got more scoop from exec producer Ken Biller! In the episode airing the weekend of March 20, “Kahlan is going to have a very powerful spell put on her, and, in order to save Kahlan’s life, Richard is going to have to protect Kahlan’s greatest enemy, who is the only one who can remove the spell,” he says. “But at the same time, Kahlan is forced to go and confront her father (played by Michael Nouri), who is the man who abused her terribly as a child.” Confession: I have no idea what he just said.

Question: You haven’t had any juicy tidbits on Burn Notice lately. Pretty please with yogurt on top? —Vanessa
Ausiello: The new season of Burn Notice will find Michael going where he has never gone before: Somewhere other than Miami! “Michael goes on a field trip somewhere in South America,” reveals series creator Matt Nix. And by South America he means “Florida’s foreign-ish areas.” Fiona won’t be tagging along, but Nix hints that certain unnamed “frenemies” will.

Supernatural Scoop!

Denise in Janesville, Wis.: I'm hoping you can answer this question since it has turned into a very heated debate among the Supernatural fandom. The so-called hot topic is this: Does Misha Collins' contract with the show end this year, or does it run through the newly announced season six? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We checked on this for you, and insiders tell us that as of right now, Misha Collins' Supernatural contract is just through to the end of the current fifth season—in part because when his deal was being worked out, there was no such thing as a season six.

Sources close to the CW Award-winning Best Supporting Actor are "hopeful" that Misha will be asked back for season six, but as of right now, folks close to the recurring player are in the same holding pattern as the rest of us.

News about whether or not we'll get more Misha should come down over the coming weeks and months as the writing staff sorts out storylines for season six.

What Lies Ahead

Will Sawyer Stay with Fake Locke? Or will he go back where he's "destined," on Team Jacob? I asked Josh Holloway himself whether his character is ultimately good or evil in the end, and he tells me: "Sawyer is both. He is good and evil. He walked most of his life towards evil, but now he more comfortably walks towards good. But he can always cross the line. It's a very interesting place to play this season because of the loss of Juliet and the anger, frustration, sadness that's here has brought him back to his original personality of being angry at the world and keeping everyone at a distance." Still, I'm hearing rumblings from reliable sources that Sawyer probably will not be on the dark side of it all at the very end. Phew.

The Flash-Sideways Losties Will Start Getting Some Memories. You didn't think the "Safe 815"-ers would be left adrift forever without any consciousness of what's happened on the island, did you? They all belong there, after all.

Casting note: Sheila Kelly (the creator of celebrity strip workout S Factor and wife of Richard Schiff) was originally slated to appear in episodes 8, 10 and 11 of Lost's final season, but despite being--spoiler alert!--killed off at the end of that initial run, she's returning to the show. An insider tells us, "Sheila's role has been extended—she's doing at least one more episode than originally planned, maybe more. Her role was changed last minute. She flew to Hawaii again last week to film the added episode." So is she the zombie? Kidding.

Glee Sneak Peek!

SPOILERS!

What's in store for Jack on Lost? — Edison
MICKEY: Matthew Fox tells us that Dr. Shephard is not so interested in saving people anymore. "For the first time in his life, he's really listening to his own sense of what his fate is. He actually believes he's completely ready to give his life for what he is meant to do on this island." Gulp. That sounds ominous, huh?

Give me scoop on the Glee Madonna episode. Who's going to sing what? — Kristy
MICKEY: Forget what they're going to sing; look at what Sue Sylvester is going to wear! As this video indicates, the Cheerios will tackle "Express Yourself" and Rachel will be wearing a "Team Finn" T-shirt when the show returns in April.

On The Vampire Diaries, are we going to find out that Alaric's wife is a vampire? — Mirabel
MICKEY: Interesting theory, M! We've already seen a particularly bloody flashback in which Isobel is attacked by a familiar-looking vampire. Get ready to learn more about her interactions with bloodsuckers. It's no accident that Alaric is teaching in Mystic Falls, but is his assumption that Isobel is dead correct? This is a good question to ask. Related question: Does Bonnie's college-aged cousin have any supernatural secrets of her own?

What's coming up for Chloe on Smallville? — Robin
ADAM: Allison Mack tells us that even though she'll be back at the Daily Planet later this season, don't expect to see her behind a desk. "I think the journalist in Chloe is something that she finds in her work at Watch Tower now," Mack says. "Chloe just wants to know the truth. Now that she recognizes how corrupt the Daily Planet and the media is, she's doing things on her own and you really see her desire to change the world... come out in her experience at Watch Tower and working with the Justice League."

Any other V babies that you know of? — Cahn
MICKEY: Elizabeth Mitchell says she's not ready to be a grandmother to an alien baby, but she's OK with Lisa, her son's alien girlfriend. "She didn't really seem to mind too much that he had a girl in his room," Mitchell says of her character. "She just wants him to be physically safe. He's not obviously. He's in great jeopardy — she just doesn't know it yet." Play safe, Tyler!

Supernatural Scoop!

Famine, step aside. Following the stomach-turning cannibalistic introduction of the first of Four Horseman of the Apocalypse on last week's Supernatural, the just renewed CW hit is searching for a 40-50 year old man to play Pestilence. This latest Horseman is described as quirky, unassuming and highly intelligent. Oh, he's also a bit neurotic and has a..a...ha-choo! A cold! Nasty!

Since Pestilence is defined as "a fatal, usually fatal epidemic disease," we can expect our Winchester brothers to be challenged by Pestilence's smarts as he attempts to carry out a diabolical plan of bio-terrorism. Stock up on the Cold-Eeze!

LOST Interviews!

W/Josh Holloway (Sawyer)

How’s poor Sawyer holding up when we see him again in Tuesday’s episode?
He’s still racked with grief and full of guilt for allowing [Juliet’s death] to happen.

But Juliet’s the one who let go of Sawyer’s grip and detonated the bomb!
That doesn’t erase the shame and guilt of not being able to hold on. At the core, it’s a man’s responsibility to protect, no matter what. Going forward, Sawyer’s all anger. He hooks up with Locke because he just doesn’t care to live anymore. He’s already dead inside.

Are things officially over then between Sawyer and Kate?
Any feelings he allows for Kate are a betrayal to Juliet and their love. As the character, I don’t want anything to do with it. It’s shameful to him. Yet there’s an inevitable attraction. I want the writers to honor what Sawyer and Kate have built together, but I don’t know what that looks like.

Is it fun to get to play two versions of Sawyer this season — one on the island and one in the flash-sideways?
With all the things I’ve been through with this character already, it’s interesting. I thought I’d just figured out Sawyer and now it’s like, “Not so fast!” But life is that way — we think we learn lessons but then they come back for another round.

W/Terry O'Quinn (Locke)

If there’s been one knock on ‘Lost’s new season, it’s that the alternate reality where Flight 815 didn’t crash has left people a bit cold. Are those storylines going to get more compelling?
I have no way to read that kind of thing; I simply do my best when I’m performing it. But I’ve been told by one person who’s seen it that in the episode coming up, [the "sideways" storytelling] really kicks in.

In one clip that ABC released, it looks like John’s box-company boss isn’t very happy with him.
Yeah, Randy is just a little upset. There are repercussions for John’s trip to Australia that send him on a new journey in that “alternate universe” – and that will overlap with other characters from the island.

On the romantic front, things seem to be going well for John and Helen (played by Katey Sagal). In that same clip, there’s mention of a wedding.
Yeah, but I wouldn’t say it’s Helen [who is marrying John]. I wont say it’s not Helen either. Yes, apparently a wedding is being planned – but John might be making that up too!

How soon will we learn why Smokey was “very disappointed” with the people there on the beach?
I’m not exactly sure why Smokey said that – maybe it was just because they were pointing guns at him when he came out? I wonder if there’s going to be a payoff to that line or not.

Is it safe to say that Smokey swiftly silenced Richard because he was afraid he’d reveal too much to the onlookers?
No, it’s not safe to say that. Locke speaks to why he silenced Richard so quickly in one of the next few episodes. He tells Richard why he did that.

I read that around midseason, you have a scene where you unload a lot of island history. Was it hard to grasp all of it as you said it?
It’s delivered so piecemeal, and I’m fed it the same way the audience is fed it, that it’s not hard to grasp. All I have to know is “What are my lines?” and “What is my character’s objective in this scene?”

Smallville Scoop!

Have you got a happy scoop on ‘Smallville’s Lois and Clark? I hope they’re not heading for a break-up, as some are thinking. Please reassure me. – WendySue
Yeesh, who is thinking that? Not only are they a couple through “Escape,” but romance is still on the table when Mrs. K (played by Annette O’Toole) resurfaces toward season’s end. “Martha is coming back at a time when Lois and Clark are still trying to figure out their relationship,” says exec producer Brian Peterson, “and doing that under mother’s watchful eye is going to present a new dynamic for them.”

Psych Sneak Peek!

For tomorrow's ep "Death is in the Air":

LOST Casting Scoop!

Samm Levine’s been a Geek and a Basterd, and now he’s about to get Lost.

The former Freaks & Geeks star, who also appears as one of Brad Pitt’s troop of Jewish commandos in Quentin Tarantino’s Oscar-nominated "Inglourious Basterds," told TV Guide Magazine that he just wrapped a guest spot for Lost’s final season, a gig that came about thanks to his longtime friendship with series co-created Damon Lindelof.

“I got a paid 30-hour vacation to Hawaii, just like everyone wants,” said Levine, who kept us guessing as to exactly what he’ll be doing on the show. “I am the smoke monster and I lift the whole…no! I'm just making stuff up!

As a longtime Lost viewer, Levine also kept himself in the dark as to what exactly was going on when he appeared. “I wouldn't expose myself to any of the secrets because I'm also a fan and I don't want to get any spoilers.” He’s also been waiting a long time to get his invite to the island.

“I've been friends with Damon Lindelof, one of the producers of the show, for ten years,” he revealed. “I mean, six years ago when he started the show I sat in his living room and watched the screener of the pilot months before it aired, and I went, 'Oh my God, this is the greatest show ever! When are you going to get me on this show?' For six years he's been going, 'I'm going to write you something on the show.'”

“And so I was driving up to San Francisco a couple of weeks ago and I see a voicemail,” Levine continued, “and it's Damon and he says, 'Hey, man, me and Eddie [Kitsis] and Adam [Horowitz] wrote you a goofy thing. It's a one-scener but we wrote it just for you. Let me know if you want to do it.' I called him back and left him a message. I said, 'I don't care if it's one line. Of course I want to do it! It's the best show on TV!' Then just a couple of hours later I hear from the AD department confirming my flight.”

Levine said he’s enjoyed watching the impact of Lost’s huge following on his pal. “It's been quite a treat seeing Damon have this success because I used to hang out with him when he lived in a crappy one bedroom apartment in Hollywood, and then I watched him go from that to a small house to a bigger house to a really nice house.”

Their friendship also resulted in one extra special perk for the actor – regular guidance when it comes to the labyrinthine Lost mythology. “If I ever watched an episode and I wasn't quite sure of something, I'd just send him an email the next day going, 'What exactly does that mean?' He would go, 'It's from that thing four episodes ago. Now leave me alone.'”
