LOST Scoop!

Jin and Sun Will Reunite and It Will Feel So Good?
But I'm now hearing that it won't be until at least the end of the current season. Wah! Originally, I had heard the plan was for the reunion to take place earlier than that, but alas, we're gonna have to wait for the warm fuzzies when Ji-Yeon's Mommy and Daddy reunite.
Source: Kristen @ E!

Question: Another episode of House this week with little or no Cameron and Chase. David Shore promised we'd see more of them -- but when? --Aleki
Ausiello: Soon. "I think your audience feels that we've teased them on that too many times, but this is not a tease," Shore told me yesterday. "The last four episodes of the season, [Chase and Cameron] are going to have a larger part." And what about next season? "I haven't mapped out next year yet," he hedges, "but, certainly, it would appear so."

Question: Are House and Cuddy ever going to talk about the fact that he tracked down her old med school desk and had it delivered to her office? --Zathrina
Ausiello: I asked David Shore about that, too. "No, it's too late," he says. "We had it in that one episode, and it was a wonderful thing. It turned her around and he, of course, found a different way of screwing it up, and she found a way of screwing it up, and we just left it at that."

Question: Can you give at least a hint about what's ahead for Wilson on House? --Monica
Ausiello: Big Robert Sean Leonard episode coming up on March 9 when Wilson at long tracks down his mentally ill, homeless brother. With Taub's assistance, Wilson gets his bro back on his meds and into an institution -- but he does so behind House's back. At least he tries to do it behind his back.

Question: Enough with all the Gossip Girl, Grey's Anatomy and Supernatural scoop. I want some dish on the hottest zip code, 90210! --Gina
Ausiello: Supernatural it is. The show is dedicating the March 12 episode to its late, beloved director Kim Manners, who passed away on Jan. 25. I'm told the ep will conclude with a 10-second photomontage followed by a brief message.
Question: We know that Tom Welling will be returning for Smallville's ninth season, but what about the rest of the cast? --Bill
Ausiello: My Small mole assures me that all principal cast members are on board for next season, with one possible exception: The dude who plays Doomsday. (I'm blanking on his name and I'm too lazy to look it up.)
Question: Do you have anything new on cable's ever-so-addicting Burn Notice? --Garrett
Ausiello: The over-arching theme of the show's third season will be Skeletons in Michael's Closet. "Michael has to deal with a whole new set of problems as various people from his past come back to haunt him," teases my Burn mole. In possibly-related news, the show is casting the role of Michelle Paxon, a Miami PD detective who's hell-bent on uncovering the truth about Michael.
Question: How about some 24 scoop? --Josh
Ausiello: Longtime executive producer-director Jon Cassar has left the show after failing to come to terms on a new contract. "I will not be involved with the upcoming eighth season," he tells me. "Although that's sad for me to leave after six years, it's also very exciting to be back in the marketplace working with different people and facing different challenges." (First up for Cassar is CBS' new Ed Bernero pilot, Washington Field.) His split from 24 is particularly surprising considering the close relationship he formed with Kiefer Sutherland. In fact, Sutherland himself expressed confidence that Cassar's contract negotiations would yield a positive result when I spoke to him last month. "There is no more integral part to the success of 24 than Jon Cassar, and I think [exec producers] Joel Surnow and Howard Gordon will tell you the same thing," he said. "We're a whole unit, and one part doesn't work without the other. He's also obviously one of my best friends and someone that I absolutely adore working with. I have all the faith in the world that things will work out, as they have over the last seven years." Or not!
Question: It's been a while since I've seen some good Prison Break series finale scoop. Do you have any spoilers on how it will end? -- Leah
Ausiello: Personally, I'm hoping producers pull an Alias and make the last scene a flash forward that shows us Michael, Sara, and their child living happily ever after in some remote location. Wouldn't that be awesome? I really hope they go in that direction (wink, wink).
Question: I'm dying to know who is playing Alpha on Dollhouse! Rumor has it it's... --Lelia
Ausiello: Let me stop you right there. Trust me, you do not want to know who's been cast in this role. Knowledge of this person's identity will ruin a major Alpha-related twist that Dollhouse boss Joss Whedon has been desperately trying to keep a lid on. Loosely translated into riddle form: What if we were to meet Alpha without knowing we were meeting Alpha? You with me, Lelia?

Question: Do you think the major-ish character that will be killed this season on Lost could be Juliet? Please say no. I have a girl-crush on her. --Michelle
Ausiello: Join the club. Nah, Juliet is considered a major character, no "ish" about it, so I think she's safe. In other Lost news, look for the season finale to intro two new, potentially recurring, characters: Jason is a former soldier whose gravitas makes him a natural-born Pied Piper; and Samuel is a J.R. Ewing (minus the Stetson, accent, and drunk wife) whose day isn't complete without a corporate takeover.

Question: Is Penny dead on Lost?! OMFG, what is this show doing to me! --Gaby
Ausiello: Penny, on the other hand, definitely falls under the "ish" category. And even more ominous than the big fat target on her forehead is the fact that her portrayer, Sonya Walger, has landed the lead role in a new ABC pilot that, appropriately enough, is already drawing comparisons to Lost. The show is called Flash Forward, and it's based on Robert J. Sawyer's apocalyptic tome that chronicles the mass chaos that comes after everyone on the planet blacks out for 2 minutes and 17 seconds. The flash-forward part applies to the vision of the future that everyone experiences during the blackout. But even if ABC orders the show to series, as many expect it will, that doesn't mean Walger is done with Lost. Quite the contrary. As a well-placed Lost insider tells me, "She will juggle both shows."

Carrie Preston in an interview on The Vault
On a possible romance between Arlene and Terry:
" I can’t really give away too much, but what I can say is that Arlene is not the type of woman who can be alone for very long."
And on Season 2:
"And without giving away anything, I can say that season 2 really strays far away from the second book, hardly anything like it. It’s just so far out there with more characters and going in different directions. Not much like the book at all.”

Smallville & Supernatural Renewed!!

Smallville has been renewed for its ninth season while Supernatural has been renewed for its fifth.

Heroes/LOST Scoop!

Even if Heroes' ratings are lower than its first season, they're still higher than other TV shows that will be or are already renewed. If they are stable, is it enough to grant the show a renewal? — Nicolas
TIM: Like we said last week, there's no time travel in the latest Heroes volume, "Fugitives" — so we can't leap to May and say for sure. NBC exec Angela Bromstad said just last month that the show is "very secure" — but that was before the midseason reboot failed to help it recover its old ratings magic.
I crave Lost scoop! — Lee
MATT: About what, exactly? Why Ben is all bloodied? What Kate did with Aaron? How Hurley got free? Why Zuleikha Robinson has Sayid in cuffs? (I've read some saucy fan-fic about that last one.) This week's episode, "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham," was held for closer to the two-week hiatus (there's no new Lost on March 11) because it is rife with exposition, but we might not get an answer to any of the aforementioned burning questions until mid-March.

-Sylar remembers some details of his childhood before he was given up for adoption and we'll learn that at least one of his "psycho killer" behaviors—you could even call it his signature—runs in the family.

Jamie in Arcadia, Calif.: Please tell me Fringe's Peter and Olivia are finally going to get it on!
Joshua Jackson sure wouldn't mind it. "Peter is a shallow, vile, hedonistic, nihilistic man," he tells us. "So, if Olivia (Anna Torv) would sleep with him, I think he would." Now it's just convincing Olivia to hop in the sack. That shouldn't be too hard, right?
Sarah in Del Mar, Calif.: Happy early birthday, Kristin! As a present, how about some Chuck scoop?
Awww, thanks. I know you fans join me in being a little worried about the future of our favorite dork, Chuck, but Josh Schwartz assures me, "NBC has been as positive as they can without saying we're officially coming back." I'll keep you posted!
Rachel in Mesa, Ariz.: Enough with Cameron and Chase not getting enough screen time on House, I just want to know if they'll be back next season!
They have almost finished shooting the fifth season of House, and Jesse Spencer tells me, "I'm proud to say that I'll be back, pretty much the whole time," during season six. Anyone care to join me in a holler?
Francesca in Chino, Calif: Kristin, how about some Heroes scoop? Please?
Check back tonight for a spanking-new Redux! In the meantime, I can tell you that one of the Heroes is something of a hero in real life. I'm told that on his way to a Stand Up to Cancer event (a great organization, by the way), Greg Grunberg and his son rescued a stray dog that'd been hit by a car and took the dog to the hospital. Are you reading my mind, Greg? 'Cause it says that I like you.
Amanda in Boston: Any scoop on Sons of Anarchy? I can't believe we have to wait until fall for more.
First of all, how fantastic was Johnny Lewis (SAMCRO's Half-Sack) on Criminal Minds last week? Definitely one of the show's more notably chilling/charming killers. Second, SOA show runner Kurt Sutter just posted on his blog about season two: "This season is all about alliances. We are going to explore and exploit the bonds we have with our brothers, our family, our country and our god. As I was writing this first script, I smiled when I realized that I get to channel all my twisted Catholic angst into a show about men who play God." Can't wait!

Tyler in Sacramento, Calif.: I noticed you are really good about giving BSG news, but I never hear anything about Eureka. Any news? Like maybe when season three is continuing?
There's no exact date yet, but I'm told that Eureka 3.5 will likely launch in July. Only five short months...
Julie in Pittsburg: Kristin, I can't believe that you didn't mention the fate of our dear Penny in your Lost Redux! Ben was bloody and at the marina and that could only mean that he was there looking for her and to make good on his promise to her dad. I'm dying to know if she's OK! When will we know? Thanks!
Sorry Julie, Sonya Walger would not comment on whether Ben got to her in the last episode, but says "anything is possible" regarding Penny showing up on the Island. When I asked her whether she was related to anyone we already know, like Charlotte or Daniel, she coyly replied: "She could be." Hit the comments with your guesses!

Craig in Orlando, Fla.: I just saw Walt from Lost on some commercial for chicken wings or something! Give us some scoop on past Losties! I want to see Charlie, Shannon, Libby, Boone, Ana-Lucia, Eko, Nikki and Paulo!
Charlie is a definite possibility. (And you Shannon fans really just need to go see Taken—Maggie Grace and Liam Neeson are great together.) We just caught up with Dominic Monaghan and he told us, "I never close doors...I loved working on Lost because it felt like a big film, it was such an event...I would like to [come back]! If it was up to me I'd be back every so often, but that's more of a writer's question." Meanwhile, you can catch Dom in this summer's Wolverine flick, out May 1. According to Dom, "My character's story begins the angry motivational moves for Wolverine. I'm a guy who was friends with Logan in his earlier Army days, and something goes down in an Army sortie, and because of that, Logan gets brought back into a combat scenario." Can't wait! (P.S. Got Q's for Lost stars Fionnula Flanagan or Malcolm David Kelley? Email us at, and we'll try to get you answers!)
Mike in Aurora, Colo.: I dig Dollhouse! Any chance you can tease what's coming up next week?
Did you know that the Dolls can be remotely deactivated via telephone? Well, it's possible, it happens, and it's bad news for Echo (Eliza Dushku). Who makes the call? Clues point to the mysterious active known only as Alpha. And guess who'll be playing him? Alan Tudyk (aka Wash from Firefly).
Ricky in Brockway, Pa.: Will Jasika Nicole ever have more screen time on Fringe?
The running joke is how many lines she'll have in an episode, but Jasika says that's about to change. "She's the only person besides Peter who is privy to all this information that's going on. They obviously couldn't just pick any old junior person to do this job because she has access to all this information that's really important. So there's a reason that she's there." Finally! Maybe next time she'll have five lines.
Lindsay in Houston: I cannot wait until this summer! Talk to me about True Blood!
Sookie's power is not unique to her. She'll meet a young Texan named Barry who reads minds, and they freak each other a little when they discover each other's powers. Also, great news for us Eric fans: We'll be catching up with him in 10th century Scandinavia, likely when he was first turned into a vampire. Holler!

Dana in Tampa, Fla.: Got any new Supernatural news?
Just that Lilith will likely raise her adorable little demonic head again in episode 20. Supernatural is casting for a suddenly possessed cutie-pie 11-year-old who turns into an evil ice queen. (And that's Lilith if I've ever heard her described.) Oh, and for you angels fans: Castiel returns on March 12, and we'll next see Uriel on March 19. Rejoice!

Marcus in Little Rock, Ark.: Supernatural!
Don't you hate it when your friends get hooked on demon blood? Well, Dean and Bobby are going to stage an intervention on Sam for just that and keep him prisoner.

LOST/Fringe Scoop!

New Moon Movie Date!

Twilight might not be a heavy hitter at this year's Oscars, but fans of the book-based film have the best kind of news to celebrate this weekend. Summit Entertainment is expected to officially announce a green light for a second sequel, Eclipse, to hit theaters on June 30, 2010, says Variety.

That would give those who obsess on all things Bella, Edward and Jacob a new bite out of the series just seven months after the first follow-up, New Moon, premieres on Nov. 20 of this year.
For the uninitiated, New Moon finds Taylor Lautner's Jacob, a werewolf, emerging as a central (if hairy) figure. Eclipse then forces Bella (Kristen Stewart) to choose between Edward (Robert Pattinson, also rather hairy) and Jacob.
