SPOILERS!

Lisa in Ramona, Calif.: Will the show Merlin continue either in the fall or again next summer? I love this show—the best all summer!
The good news is that Merlin season two has already been ordered. The bad news is that the summer ratings here in the States were not good, and when asked if the show would be returning, a rep for NBC said, "I don't have any info right now." If the show returns to American TV (and there's no guarantee that will happen), we suspect it will air on something like BBC America or Syfy, rather than straight broadcast NBC.

Sue in Bridgeport, Conn.: OMG! Was that Sookie in a wedding dress in the previews for True Blood's season finale last night?
Close. It was Maryann in a wedding dress and Sookie in a maid-of-honor dress for some season-finale craziness, courtesy our favorite maenad. (Maryann plans to marry the sacrifice-conjured Dionysus or some such nonsense.) Expect many surprises on the Sept. 13 True Blood finale, including Sam turning to an unlikely ally to help save Bon Temps.

Kara in Wichita, Kan.: I need Supernatural scoop!
We've met young Dean and young Sam in past Supernatural flashbacks, but season five will include a flash-forward to 70-year-old Dean Winchester, and he's exactly the old coot you'd expect him to be.

Kym in Philadelphia: I'm a huge fan of Supernatural! I'm just wondering if Alona Tal is reprising her role as Jo in season five as a regular or if it's just a one-off?
So far, both Jo and Ellen Harvelle are back on Supernatural for just one episode, but they could definitely return later in the season for a second engagement.

Nick in Spokane, Wash.: What's up with Jeffster from Chuck? Any CD or tour plans? Will they be on the next season?
As of now, Vik Sahay, one half of the band Jeffster with fellow Chuck star Scott Krinsky, says there is no action yet on the CD or touring fronts. "There's been some talk about something, but I can't imagine it really happening. Some people have said put out an album, and I'm like, 'What are you talking about?' " he says. But the good news is that NBC has confirmed that Jeffster will perform on the show next season. If Vik had his say, here's how it would go: "I'd hope we'd go into more of the '80s rock thing, like Poison or Bon Jovi—get to tease my hair up."

Eva in Yakima, Wash.: I can't wait for House! Do you have any news?
Don't miss our new House interviews with Hugh Laurie, Robert Sean Leonard, Lisa Edelstein and executive producer David Shore. Shore revealed this about the season premiere: "[Franka Potente] is the sister-in-law of one of the inmates, who develops an attachment to House, and House develops an attachment to her, but it's complicated."

Carolina in Los Angeles: Thanks for the Bones scoop. What can you tell us about the season premiere?
Booth says those three little words...and Brennan says them back. Does it stick? You'll have to tune in Sept. 17 to find out.

Robyn in Port St. Lucie, Fla.: At the end of last season on Dollhouse, Alpha slashed Victor's face. Is this something they will fix? Will he still be a Doll, or will they use him like they used Amy Acker's character after Alpha did that to her?
In season two of Dollhouse, Victor is still a Doll, and yes, happily, his face will be fixed. Joss Whedon is crazy, but not so crazy that he'd permanently ruin the prettiness of Enver Gjokaj!

Jennie in San Jose, Calif.: What's in store for Jax and Tara on Sons of Anarchy? I cannot wait for the premiere!
Tara's having a pretty good year—the other two women in Jax's life, Wendy and Gemma, are no longer a problem for her! Wendy's in rehab (and/or Drea de Matteo is over on Desperate Housewives), and believe it or not, Tara and Gemma are growing closer. Weird but true.

House Casting Scoop!

I had a feeling we hadn’t seen the last of this guy: Michael Weston is returning to House this fall as private eye Lucas Douglas, sources confirm to me exclusively.

We first met Lucas last fall when House hired him to tail his then-estranged BFF Wilson. After appearing in multiple episodes, the character abruptly disappeared without explanation. At the time, series creator David Shore said Lucas was brought in primarily to play off of House. “But once Wilson came back,” he added, “we didn’t dramatically have a need for him anymore.”

So what brings him back? A Fox rep declined to comment beyond confirming that Weston will appear in an episode that goes into production this week. Perhaps the PI becomes a patient? Or maybe House is finally getting down to the business of solving Kutner’s “murder”? I’m spitballing here people.

Weston’s return will no doubt trigger fresh speculation about the Lucas-centered spinoff that Shore and fellow exec producer Katie Jacobs had been toying with. The project never got off the ground, but Shore was quick to note that the decision not to move forward “had nothing to do with” Weston.

Happy to have Weston/Lucas back? Do you hope it’s for more than one episode? And what do you think brings him back? Sound off below!

Supernatural Scoop!

Supernatural creator Eric Kripke is sticking by his word that his CW thriller will bow out next May after five seasons. Sort of.

“I did set out [to] tell a five-season storyline,” the exec maintains. “Quite frankly, I never expected [the show] to make it to five years. But now that we’re in our fifth year, I have every intention of ending the story with a bang and not drawing it out our watering it down.”

Relax, Supe Nazis. Here’s that catch I promised you…“That having been said,” Kripke continues, “I’m looking at this season as the last chapter in this particular story. That doesn’t mean there can’t be a new story. Buffy did it. The X-Files did it. You close a chapter on a big mythology storyline and then you begin a new one.

“One of the things I like about this show is we don’t draw out mysteries endlessly,” he adds. “We’ll answer a bunch of questions this season and then pose some new ones next season.”

Of course, that’s assuming there is a next season. The CW has yet to renew Supernatural for a sixth go-’round. And even if the show does come back, would Kripke still be involved? “I don’t know,” hedges Supe’s fearless leader, who doesn’t have a deal in place beyond season 5. “I’m going to cross that bridge when I get to it.”

What say you, Supe fans? Would you prefer to see Sam and Dean go out with a bang next May? Or are you cool with the show continuing on and running the risk of limping to the finish line like The X-Files and Buffy? And the even bigger question: Is there Supernatural life after Kripke?

Bones Scoop!

The Bones you love is back.

After last season's frustrating finale, Bones returns next month with a heartwarming and very sweet season premiere that has all of the Booth-Bones chemistry you could want, along with outstanding squint comedy, a rollicking good mystery and a guest gig by Cyndi Lauper.

We just chatted up series stars Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz and Michaela Conlin and got them to spill on the season to come...

Booth's Brain: After last season's coma drama, the big issue is Booth's brain. Is he really himself? And if he has residual feelings for Bones, are those feelings genuine, or are they symptoms of brain damage? Emily tells us, "Booth's character is kind of confused about our relationship when he wakes up, and that adds a whole new element to our relationship." Or as David puts it, in his own inestimable way, "The biggest thing coming out of last season is that my mind was shattered, and I've got to get it back. These genuine feelings that I have for her, I really think they're true." Psssst...they are, darn it!

Mondo Flirtation: The main characters never can seem to seal the deal, but that won't stop them from continuing to make goo-goo eyes at each other. As David Boreanaz adorably tells us: "I don't care about the crime solving. I just care about my relationship with her. The other stuff just happens. I don't care about the bones and the crime. I care about what they're doing over the crime scene."

Clothes Make the Man? In the first few episodes, the series is very preoccupied with getting Booth back into gear, and part of that involves getting Booth back into his supersuit. (Fox even included a pair of funky rainbow, Booth-style socks with the season-five press kit!) As Boreanaz puts it, "I'm not dressed 100 percent because I don't know how to dress in my Booth costume—Booth's batsuit, whatever you call it. Yeah, that's a utility belt. It's a cocky belt buckle." But don't worry. We're pretty sure he'll get all the pieces together soon enough.

Yay! The best tidbit we got, however, comes from the divine Ms. Deschanel, who tells us, "There absolutely will be more kissing [between Bones and Booth]." Whoo-hoo!

Hodgela! Other good news coming out of this season? Angela and Hodgins' long separation may finally be coming to an end. The beautiful Michaela Conlin tells us, "I hear [Jack and Angela] are going to be reconciling soon! Hopefully they're on their way to making it back toward each other." Whoo!

Last but Not Least: Forgive us for one second while we get up on our soapbox about Bones, a wonderful and charming series that's just been treading the same romantic waters for much too long.

Burn Notice Casting Scoop!

The former Sarah Connor Chronicles killing machine, who in the past month has completed guest stints on CSI, Lie to Me, and Law & Order: SVU, is en route to Miami to shoot a role on the USA smash, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Dillahunt will play Simon, a scary-smart new client of Michael’s (Jeffrey Donovan) — and perhaps the first person to outsmart him. The episode — which will air this winter when the show returns to finish out its third season — also features the return of Frasier’s John Mahoney as Management.

Bones Casting Scoop!

It’s the on-screen pairing Bones fans have been waiting for. No, not Booth and Brennan — Emily and Zooey! Bones is talking to Emily Deschanel’s movie-star sis, Zooey, about guest-starring this December!

“We’ve been looking for an opportunity to get the Deschanel girls together,” notes exec producer Hart Hanson, “but Zooey’s rockin’ career kept getting in the way.”

Assuming the scheduling can be worked out this time around, Hanson wants the star of this summer’s indie smash (500) Days of Summer to play (natch) a relative of Brennan’s. “We alluded to [her] having a cousin in Minnesota two seasons ago. I’d very much like to meet her in the Christmas episode."

Leverage Renewed!

Leverage has been renewed on TNT for a third season.

True Blood Spoilers!

There are just two episodes left of summer blockbuster True Blood, and Bon Temps citizens aren't the only ones in a frenzy. We fans are dying to know what's to come this season!

Luckily, the show's stars were feeling chatty at this week's Nylon magazine TV issue party (Anna Paquin is the cover girl)! Read on for the exclusive secrets the stars spilled about the remainder of season two...

Michele in Pine Bluff, Ark.: Do you know anything about Sookie's new power on True Blood? I can't stop thinking about it.

Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette) has done his homework and spills the beans: "Well, I read the books, so I think she's part fairy. That was her fairy power." According to Rutina Wesley (who plays Sookie's BFF Tara), "[Sookie's power] is a funky little thing," but she also tells us the show won't answer that question for certain any time in season two.

Ada in Gallup, N.M.: You teased on Monday that someone surprising was going to save Sam Merlotte. Can you give us a hint?
Well, according to Tara Buck, who plays Fangtasia waitress Ginger, "I'm coming back this Sunday, and I don't want to give anything away, but everybody's back from Dallas, and there's a lot of stuff that's accumulated and a lot of danger. We've got everybody, we've got Sam (Sam Trammell) running from Maryann (Michelle Forbes), and he may actually..." Tara wants to keep her job, so she couldn't tell us everything, but we have it good authority that he may actually seek refuge with Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) and Pam (Kristin Bauer) at Fangtasia in Shreveport, La. Awesome!

Bonny in Birmingham, England: I've just about had it with that maenad Maryann. Can we please get rid of her soon?
Yes, Maryann will be vanquished, but it won't be easy. Nelsan Ellis tells us that no one character single-handedly takes her out, but rather it's a "group effort" by all of the good guys.

Anna in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho: Are any of the zombie couples on True Blood going to last? I love Arlene and Terry Bellefleur, and Tara and Eggs, and I hope they survive Maryann.

Anything's possible. Carrie Preston, who plays Merlotte's waitress Arlene tells us, "When you're possessed on the show, the next day, you don't remember. So they can start over—like a reset, a reboot. I think Arlene is constantly searching for the perfect man, and maybe he's going to be the one. I don't know." We're definitely rooting for more Terry and Arlene. In other romance news, Rutina says that Tara has real feelings for Eggs: "I think she is really falling in love for the first time...She's ready to open herself up," so that's something to build a relationship on, if she can get him out from under Maryann's thrall before it's too late.

Harper in Bemidji, Minn.: What can you tell us about Evan Rachel Wood's character?
Look for Marc Malkin's exclusive interview with Evan later today, but the other thing to know is that Sophie is hooked up with Sookie's cousin, Hadley Hale (Lindsey Haun), which you can see for yourself in our Spoiler Stills gallery. Wow. Those Stackhouse women sure do like vampires—could the attraction somehow be genetic?

Supernatural Scoop!

E!Online confirms that the actress who played Ruby on SPN last season, Genevieve Cortese, will not be returning.

Dollhouse Casting Scoop!

Summer Glau is set to join her "Firefly"/"Serenity" colleague Joss Whedon on the FOX drama "Dollhouse."

Sources at FOX have confirmed for HitFix the news -- first broken via Dollverse -- that Glau will appear in a multi-episode "Dollhouse" arc later this season.

We hear that Glau will play a character named Bennett who shares a past with Eliza Dushku's Echo and has a connection to another Dollhouse character.

Excited yet? How about this for a juicy kernel? We're told that Bennett works for a Dollhouse. Did you notice the key detail there? That would be *a* Dollhouse, not necessarily *the* Dollhouse that we've come to know and love. Then again, it totally could be *the* Dollhouse, but that wouldn't be as fun, now would it?

It's been a poorly kept secret that Whedon wanted to get Glau for a "Dollhouse" role and that he didn't want her to simply play a doll.

Exact specifics on when Glau will first appear (Dollverse says Episode 5) and for how long have yet to be formalized. She joins a growing list of Whedon veterans to drop by "Dollhouse," a group that includes Season One recurring player Amy Acker, season-closing guest star Alan Tudyk and Felicia Day, who appeared in Mysterious 13th Episode "Epitaph One."

Glau was most recently seen on FOX's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," which spent the spring paired with "Dollhouse" on FOX's Sci Fi (not SyFy) Friday. After two seasons of decreasing ratings (but much fan adoration), "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" was cancelled in May.

Other credits for Glau include "The 4400," "The Unit" and a cameo as "Summer Glau" on "The Big Bang Theory."

"Dollhouse" will have its second season premiere on FOX on Friday, Sept. 25.

SPOILERS!

Question: Give us a House spoiler, please! —Zachary
Ausiello: Cuddy knows that House made imaginary love to her last May. “It’s referenced in an upcoming episode,” House boss David Shore tells me. “She’s aware of it and she confronts him. She wants to know where all that stands.” That makes two of us.

Question: How long will Cameron and Chase hang on to their old jobs on House? —Jeff
Ausiello: “We don’t have a specific end in mind,” says Shore. “It appears to be temporary, but [there's] no specific end date.”

Question: Thanks for the Bones scoopage last week, but it still hasn’t quenched my thirst. Got any more juicy gossip for me? —Bree
Ausiello: Here are two scoops about the Sept. 17 season premiere: The episode features a time jump that’s longer than two weeks but less than six months. And an MRI holds the answer to one of the show’s biggest questions.

Question: Is Roxie gone for good on Bones? I hope so. I want Angela with Hodgins. —Claire
Ausiello: “Rosie is out of the picture for now,” confirms series creator Hart Hanson, who adds that “Angela and Hodgins belong together every bit as much as Booth and Brennan — perhaps more. And they will get there. But it’ll be a rough, rough road.”

Question: I was wondering if you had any Heroes scoop — preferably anything on Ali Larter’s character, Tracy. —Jason
Ausiello: In keeping with the season’s “Redemption” theme, “Tracy goes back to her old life working on the Hill, only to discover that she’s no longer driven by the same shallow rewards,” explains series creator Tim Kring. “She wants to make a difference in peoples’ lives.”

Question: Do you have any spoilers about Supernatural? —Tracey
Ausiello: You’ll be thrilled to hear that Sam and Dean’s inability to maintain meaningful long-term relationships with the opposite sex will continue throughout season 5. “We’ve returned to a conceit that works for us and that the fans seem to be able to swallow without vomiting, which is that there’s a girl in every port,” says series creator Eric Kripke. “We certainly have a lot of guest star female love interests that the boys help save and interact with. But at the moment, there are no plans for a longstanding romantic relationships."

Question: How about some Lie to Me bits? —Kate
Ausiello: The show will gradually delve into Lightman and Gillian’s burgeoning relationship. “That’s something we want to take slow,” says exec producer Shawn Ryan. “There is something between Cal and Gillian, and we’ll [explore] what those feelings are. I don’t want to promise we’ll necessary act on them right away, or even ever.”

Question: I read somewhere that Lightman is going to go “undercover” at a singles mixer on Lie to Me early in the season. What other aliases will he take on to trick his subjects this season? —Jenny
Ausiello: A former frat boy, a wannabe father at a fertility clinic, and an underworld hitman, to name just a few.
