Could it be that Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy), the moral compass of NBC's Heroes, will go to the dark side in season three? Well, anything is possible on Heroes and the upcoming third "volume" of the hit show, entitled "Villains." (Spoilers ahead!)
Anyone who attended Comic-Con International this summer and watched the first hour of the two-part season opener saw Suresh inject himself with a serum that gives him a superpower. So ... ? "There are villains," Ramamurthy said in a conference call with reporters this week. "We have some very cool, evil villains. There's no question. It's not just Sylar [Zachary Quinto] anymore. There's one villain in particular who just kind of makes Sylar look like a wimp, quite frankly. The villains that they've brought on are great, but I think that 'Villains' also refers to ... Everybody has a little bit of an evil side. They have a little bit of a dark side, even people who are good. And you are going to see that part of a lot of the characters that you thought were fundamentally the 'good' on the show, and not just the Suresh character, but other characters as well."
As a result of Suresh's gaining a power, Ramamurthy said that he found himself on the Heroes set immersed in action sequences and performing stunts the likes of which he'd never been called on to do in previous seasons. "I have never had this much fun," Ramamurthy said. "I've gotten to do so much physical stuff. I'm getting to do some amazing stunts, and they're actually letting me do a lot of them, which I was kind of shocked about." Season three of Heroes kicks off on Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
