A young campaign worker is killed by a shooter who was supposedly trying to assassinate popular Virginia governor and presidential aspirant, CHARLES BROOKS. In the aftermath of his ordeal, Brooks immediately experiences a "bullet bump," a boost in publicity and popularity that sends his sagging poll numbers soaring.
