According to sources, Kal Penn, Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson will continue on the hit medical series "House" as regulars.There were among a number of recurring actors on the show, playing candidates to work with Dr. House (Hugh Laurie), following the departure of his previous assistants, played by Jennifer Morrison, Jesse Spencer and Omar Epps.
Penn, Wilde and Jacobson's characters were early standouts in this week's episode, which introduced all applicants.Originally, the plan was for two of the characters to stick around and for the actors playing them to become regulars on the UMS-produced series. But the producers ended up picking up three actors, sources said.The script for the episode, which would reveal Dr. House's final selection, is expected to be distributed today.A rep for the producers and UMS declined comment.
